Crocodile Bay Lodge is Costa Rica’s newest and finest Sport Fishing and Eco-Tour Resort. The resort is located on 44 acres with 34 air-conditioned rooms in Puerto Jimenez on the Osa Peninsula at the mouth of the Golfo Dulce. Their exquisite lodge features a top of the line daily menu, swimming pool, hot tub, massage room and a conference center that accommodates up to 80 people. Rooms include hand carved furniture and many have private jacuzzi baths.

As the gateway to the Corcovado National Park Wildlife preserve, Crocodile Bay Lodge enjoys some of the finest eco tours in Central America.

Crocodile Bay boasts the largest professional sport fishing team in Central America with in-house captains and mates able to cater to all skill levels. At the helm stands Todd Staley, Director of Fishing, expert fisherman, writer and conservationist. Todd and his crew are dedicated to providing education and training to ensure you enjoy the fishing adventure of a lifetime. Offshore, inshore, and now all-new kayak and shore fishing excursions are available, each uniquely challenging and equally rewarding.

The Zancudo Lodge has established itself as the leading exclusive Costa Rican fishing lodge with over 60 I.G.F.A. world records. For the past 20 years, the Zancudo Lodge has advocated catch and release of all billfish which is now a common practice among Costa Rican fisherman. The lodge is located on the scenic pacific coast of Costa Rica, on the bay of Golfo Dulce 4 miles from Golfito.

The Lodge is surrounded by the beauty of Costa Rican wildlife and foliage. Guests can enjoy the picturesque scenery from the beachfront pool and hot tub. The 20 rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with a mini-bar, international phone service, direct TV satellite television, and modern ensuite bathroom.

The fishing fleet consists of 12 modern 28 foot center consoles powered by twin Suzuki four stroke engines. Each boat, custom built for fishing, is equipped with the latest electronics, live bait wells and outriggers. Our guests will fish with first class equipment, second to none.

Golfito, Puerto Jiminez and Zancudo Beach are on the Golfo Dulce, formed by the Osa Peninsula in the southern part of Costa Rica, near the Panamanian border. The facilities are far less developed then in the rest of the country, which makes it a great place to go. It has the only all inclusive fishing lodges on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, as well as small hotels and a small fleet of charterboats. Most of the boats are based in Golfito, but will pick up clients in Puerto Jiminez,  Cabo Matapalo or Zancudo Beach.

The offshore fishing is world class with sailfish, marlin, dorado and tuna, with the peak season being from December into April. It is the best place in Costa Rica to target marlin at that time of year, unlike further north where sailfish are much more common. wahoo. Fishing in the Golfo Dulce for Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Jack Crevalle, Bluefin Trevally, Sierra Mackerel, Tripletail, and Grouper is excellent throughout the year with a lot less fishing presure than other parts of the country.

In most cases, because there are only two flights per day, you will have to spend the first night in San Jose, but the first flight in the morning will get you there early enough to get in a full days fishing.

Tropical Fishing Adventures can arrange as much or as little of your trip that you want, including the transportation from the states as well as the local flights. If you would like to see some of the country, you can also go by road. For most of the trip the road is excellent, with the last couple of miles more typical of the Costa Rican roads that many complain about. It will take about four hours and a private van is the best choice although you can also rent a car.

Let me give you a complete package price on a great trip to Costa Rica. Just drop me a line or better yet give me a call. The worst that could happen is we'll BS about fishing for a bit.
