You can fish on some of the same boats that are used by the American style fishing lodges at a considerable savings by staying in a local hotel instead.

Soleil del Pacifico Hotel is located on the ocean at Chulamar, a small village about fifteen minutes away from the Marina Pez Vela, where all of Guatemala’s sportfishing boats are located. It is a resort hotel popular with upscale Guatemalan families. The accommodations are great, with both double and triple air conditioned rooms.

The Resort features 62 standard rooms, 24 mini-suites, 14 suites, 11 four people bungalows and 11 six people bungalows, all decorated in an elegant tropical style. The amenities include double beds, cable TV, radio, telephone, wardrobe, closet, balcony, safe deposit box. The suites and the bungalows are equipped with a complete kitchen and living room.

RESTAURANTS
Los Caracoles Restaurant
Located at the bottom of the bridge to the Cabaña Club, is the main restaurant that offers Breakfast and Dinners.
El Mirador Restaurant
Located at the Cabaña Club on the ocean. It is two levels and attached to the main swimming pool where the guest can come from the pool area or ocean for lunch or snacks.

The boats used are locally owned and in some cases the same boats that are employed by the American fishing lodges. The crews are Guatemalans with a limited language capability, but enough for fishing communications.

Included in these rates is the number of days chosen for fishing, with bait, tackle, lunch and drinks, accommodations at the new Soleil del Pacifico on the ocean with breakfast and dinner, all ground transfers and taxes. Not included are tips international travel and departure tax.
